Give one button a sound.

Use an existing audio library and connect one deliberate click.

Kenney UI Audio · click5.wav

Free · CC0 · one short WAV sample reused from BINX Engine.

Loading the sample. With JavaScript disabled, use the audio controls below.

JavaScript is required for the example button and playback status. Native audio controls still work.

Add it to your test project

  1. Back up your project. Use one test page and check the exact files and permissions.
  2. Use the official Howler.js 2.2.4 browser build, or its documented import in an existing compatible package setup. Keep its MIT notice.
  3. Serve the WAV at a URL your project can open. Replace the illustrative /audio/click5.wav path below with that real URL.
  4. Attach play() to an actual button. Check load failures, volume, repeat clicks and your target browser/device.
  5. Keep the working change and licence records. Recheck the rest of your game before adding more files.
const sound = new Howl({
  src: ['/audio/click5.wav'],
  volume: 0.25
});
button.addEventListener('click', () => sound.play());

This browser example uses the actual npm-installed esbuild bundle. It does not test an engine plugin. Chromium testing does not certify Safari, iOS hardware or every codec.
