# Forge Merge Lab: two original modes and a mechanic mashup This V1 teaching probe is not a complete V2 game or a retail-game mod. It uses original Forge source and procedural circles, with no third-party game code, model, texture, ROM or binary. Requires Node24. Run `node check.mjs` for 22 actual core checks. Run `node serve.mjs` and open the printed localhost URL for manual practice; keep all files together, do not double-click the HTML and never expose this helper as a public server. Stop with Ctrl+C. Local server use is an instruction, not a claim that browser acceptance was executed. Compare Collector (four tokens), Arena (survive20seconds with timed charge refill), then Hybrid (four tokens AND20seconds, tokens refill pulse charge instead of time). A pulse spends one charge and removes hazards within100world pixels. The host owns the sole animation loop, movement, normalized input,640x360 coordinates, time step, pause/reset and outcome. Donors expose collection/damage/pulse events without loops or wins. Zero health loses before a completed goal wins. Restart always creates fresh state; no save/multiplayer/importer is implemented. Reuse: input.mjs and serve.mjs are exact copies of owned Pocket Engine1.0 helpers; host adapts its movement/timing. Arena adapts the owned Genre Lab bounded wave/contact pattern. New glue addresses the specific shared-host/event/goal/refill gap. Keep their MIT notices. Donor projects remain unchanged. No engine, plugin or runtime dependency is installed. Native check.mjs executes 22 deterministic checks on the shared core: isolated modes, the combined goal, token/pulse events, recharge, invulnerability, loss priority, simulated15/30/60/120FPS movement, diagonals/bounds, pause/restart, invalid time/stall cap, hazard cap and terminal immutability. Simulated frame timing is not measured hardware FPS. Browser/render/keyboard/touch/focus/clipboard/assistive/device and other platforms remain OPEN. Test those before shipping your own game. The guide explains real crossover projects at their original sources. Their source licences do not grant rights to retail-game assets. This original lab is the only worked source bundled. V2 original finished games belong on BINX.fun after V1 gates.
